Occam’s Razor

You know, there’s truth in engineering, and I’ve got to hand it to the guys at Google, they might have a winner here. You can’t beat the features: Instant-On, Sandboxed OS, Updates so current that the programmer’s coffee isn’t even cold yet… WWAN’s even built in! Web apps do damn near anything a computer user could want, and it means every piece of software will have the best GUI and most current versions. The only pitfalls are that of the lowly and ubiquitous password. You’re gonna have to trust Chrome’s protection to keep your passwords safe, and god help you if you start forgetting (or writing down!) passwords to different web apps that aren’t in Google’s sandbox. KeePass integration will be tricky or impossible due to the actual OS being built around the concept of no native apps.

Password implementation and privacy grumblings aside, I applied to test pilot a Cr-48. We’ll see if I end up with one for my birthday! God knows how much fun it’d be to try and pull everything into the cloud.
